The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a speciality which bridges dentistry and medicine. The department is equipped with the latest technology in treating surgical emergencies of the dental field. The services provided include treatment of facial injuries, diseases or abnormalities affecting the face, jaws and mouth.

Infrastructure :

Department is equipped with high-quality dental chairs, Minor Oral Surgery operating room and a recovery room.

The department has well-planned and spacious clinic to handle the procedures of exodontia and other minor surgical procedures done under local anaesthesia.

Department has the facility of oral cancer detection.

Curriculum & Activities

The curriculum is designed to develop the clinical, academic, and communicative skills that will provide for diversified career options.

The undergraduate training programme commences in the 3rd year with lectures and practical exercises and continues to final year.

During clinical posting, students have the opportunity of examining the patients and arrive at a diagnosis with the suitable treatment plan as required in oral surgery.

Students are trained in this section for minor oral surgical procedures.
