As the college is situated in the vicinity of rural areas, there is an abundance of patients being diagnosed in the Dental OPD. At a daily average, the dental OPD plays host to more than 100-150 patients who are diagnosed and treated according to their needs. Owing to the unawareness regarding the importance of dental treatment there are many patients who are diagnosed with precancerous and cancarous lesions. The students are made aware of the features of such abnormalities in the mouth and other related body parts. They are seriously attended to and are properly treated according to the condition required.
Strict measures are also taken to maintain sterilization in all the departments. Proper modes of sterilization of instruments, dental chairs, chair side stools along with proper barriers for infection control of students are thoroughly followed. The students are given proper guidance by the faculty for providing various treatment procedures in the dental OPD.
The college also organises Dental and Medical Camps in the rural as well as the city areas. There have been many camps (Dhankutti, IMA Hall, Expressway Road, Bhargava Estate, Nariyal Bazaar) that have been held on a grand scale which had many eminent personalities of the region attending to increase interest among the people. Many School Dental Health Education Programmes have been organised by the college. Camps were also organised in collaboration with Colgate India in the rural areas as far as 100 km from the Dental College and they all witnessed an excellent turnout.
